极端高温事件是我国南方夏季频发的天气灾害,区域性明显,持续性高温事件的环流背景及其影响机理值得深入研究。基于台站观测资料和欧洲中期天气预报中心的再分析资料,对1961—2010年广西东南部贵港地区发生的高温事件的时间变化规律及持续性高温天气过程对应的大气环流场演变进行了统计诊断分析。(1)广西东南部贵港地区的高温日主要出现在6—9月,其中7—8月是高温日频发的月份;3天以上的持续高温日数占总高温日数的6成;8—9月的高温日数具有明显的增加趋势。(2)桂东南在6—9月的持续性高温天气与一些特定的天气系统的存在有紧密联系。持续的下沉运动是造成广西东南部升温的主要原因,而导致垂直下沉运动的主要原因又与大陆高压、副热带高压或南海-菲律宾海出现的热带低压系统的北移路径偏东有关,持续时间较长的高温过程还与热带气旋的活动时间较长和强度偏强有关。(3)高压控制的晴空少云天气可导致地表接收更多的太阳辐射,使得地表温度的升高,从而导致地表向上的长波辐射及感热通量增强,加热近地面空气,这些有利于近地面升温的热力过程以及垂直下沉绝热加热过程的增强,使得高温天气过程得以维持。   相似文献

Contemporary precipitation patterns in the Caribbean region are spatially variable, and the small number of Holocene paleoclimatic records may not adequately capture patterns of variation in the past. The hydrological history of Grenada was inferred from paleolimnological analyses of sediment cores from two crater lakes on the island. The basins were formed by volcanic activity some time during the Last Termination, but were dry between ca. 13 000 and ca. 7200 cal. a BP. After filling, the lakes were initially very shallow, and sedimentation was interrupted by a hiatus ca. 6300–5500 cal. a BP, followed by deposition of a thick tephra in both sites. After 5500 cal. a BP, lake level shows considerable multi‐centennial variability, superimposed upon a long‐term trend of generally higher lake level after 3200 cal. a BP. The pattern of lake‐level variation in Grenada shows some similarity with other Caribbean paleoclimatic records in terms of the timing of transitions, but differs from several classic studies in the sign of inferred precipitation change. The differences among records may reflect spatially variable precipitation patterns in the past in response to the position of the Intertropical Convergence Zone and to sea surface temperature influences on the trade winds and Caribbean low‐level jet. Field observations and theoretical considerations suggest that dense magmatic sulphide liquids are injected into and/or passively infiltrate surrounding wall rocks late in the emplacement history of intrusion-hosted magmatic ore systems. Using analogies with other engineering and mineral systems, we evaluate the structural and physical controls on the ingress of sulphide liquid into brittle host rocks. Gravity-driven infiltration of sulphide liquid out of the host igneous intrusion into country rock may be analogous to the behaviour of dense immiscible fluids in groundwater systems (Dense Non Aqueous Phase Liquids; DNAPL), which is controlled by the body force of the liquid itself. Downward penetration of sulphide liquid into micro-fractures may occur once a sufficient thickness of sulphide, known as the critical accumulation height, is reached in the overlying intrusion. Upward and lateral injection of sulphide liquid is a similar process to the behaviour of crustal hydrothermal fluids, where active deformation, fluid pressure and host-rock anisotropy play critical roles. Such physical controls must be considered and integrated with well-established petro-geochemical concepts in order to better understand the genesis of magmatic Ni-Cu-PGE sulphide deposits.  相似文献

Niobium and Ta concentrations in ultrahigh‐pressure (UHP) eclogites and rutile from these eclogites and associated high pressure (HP) veins were used to study the behaviour of Nb–Ta during dehydration and fluid‐rock interaction. Samples were collected through a ~2 km profile at the Bixiling complex in the Dabie orogenic belt, Central‐Eastern China. All but one eclogite away from veins (EAVs) display nearly constant Nb/Ta ratios ranging from 16.1 to 19.2, with an average of 16.9 ± 0.8 (2 SE), similar to that of their gabbroic protolith from the Yangtze Block. Nb/Ta ratios of rutile from the EAVs range from 12.7 to 25.3 among different individual grains, with the average values close to those of the corresponding bulk rocks. These observations show that Nb and Ta were not significantly fractionated by prograde metamorphism up to eclogite facies when no significant fluid‐rock interaction occurs. In contrast, Nb/Ta ratios of rutile from eclogites close to veins (ECVs) are highly variable from 17.8 to 49.8, which are systematically higher (by up to 17) than those of rutile from the veins. These observations demonstrate that Nb and Ta were mobilized and fractionated during localized fluid flow and intensive fluid‐rock interaction. This is strongly supported by Nb/Ta zoning patterns in single rutile grains revealed by in situ LA‐ICP‐MS analysis. Ratios of Nb/Ta in the ECV‐hosted rutile decrease gradually from cores towards rims, whereas those in the EAV‐hosted rutile are nearly invariable. Furthermore, the vein rutile shows Nb/Ta zoning patterns that are complementary to those in rutile from their immediate hosts (ECVs), suggesting an internal origin for the vein‐forming fluids. The Nb/Ta ratios of such fluids evolved from low values at the early stage of subduction to higher values at later supercritical conditions with increased temperature and pressure. Quantitative modelling was conducted to constrain the compositional evolution of metamorphic fluids during dehydration and fluid‐rock interaction focusing on Nb–Ta distribution. The modelling results based on our proposed multistage fluid phase evolution path can essentially reproduce the natural observations reported in the present study.  相似文献

A convective adjustment (CA) algorithm is thought to be responsible for grid-scale oceanic-state sustained oscillations seen in oceanic general circulation models (OGCM), an effect that is most evident in simulations with coarse spatio-temporal scales. The CA algorithm is thought to inadvertently create a salt oscillator. Several studies have confirmed that a flip-flop type salt oscillator, which is reminiscent in some respects of simple CA schemes, can develop sustained oscillations. Subsequently, several researchers were able to show how coupled salt oscillators, reacting in a particular temporal sequence, are capable of producing large-scale oscillations not unlike those found in the OGCM simulations. However, the proxy models used to study how CA can create these oscillations in large-scale simulations were never directly related to OGCM results.Here we couple hydrodynamics to the CA and look at zonally-driven flows in the low-frequency, large-scale limit. Adding flow is a step in the direction of developing an analytically tractable model with which to understand the basics of OGCMs. We analytically determine whether, and under what circumstances, the CA scheme is responsible for sustained oscillations.We carry out this program for four basic box-model configurations, each inspired by the general shape of the eigenfunctions and constraints of the large-scale zonally-averaged forced flow over a hemisphere. Furthermore, in order to make our results relevant to the Meridional Ocean Circulation, we also investigate the effect of replacing the usual assumption of a linear relation between thermohaline flow rate and horizontal density gradient with a nonlinear hydraulic relationship.We find that a salt oscillator does not occur in the most common box-model configurations. In one of our models, however, we find wide parameter ranges in which all steady states calculated for the model fail to satisfy the CA scheme, the situation which is expected to result in CA-induced oscillations. The model in question corresponds to a hemispheric shallow thermohaline flow over a deep reservoir. However, we find that oscillations occur in these parameter ranges only if the density threshold for convection is negative, i.e., if the CA scheme turns on convection between vertically adjacent boxes when the density stratification between them is still slightly stable. In this situation, the amplitude and period of the oscillations depend strongly on the size of the density threshold, both vanishing as the threshold is taken toward zero. We also show that the same is true in the Welander flip-flop model of a single salt oscillator. For positive values of the threshold, that is, when the CA scheme is allowed to ignore small unstable stratification changes, oscillations do not occur in the limit of integration time step going to zero, but can still be seen when the time step is finite, even if small. Moreover, the system evolves toward a new steady state, one in which the stratification in one box is exactly the threshold value itself. We show how to calculate these new steady states, and explain why they give way to oscillations when the density threshold is negative.  相似文献

Anaerobic degradation of mixtures of isomeric pristenes and phytenes by sedimentary bacterial communities was investigated. These isoprenoid alkenes were quickly metabolized without formation of the corresponding alkanes. Identification of several bacterial metabolites allowed us to confirm the key role played by hydration in the metabolism of alkenes. Despite the increasing production of 5α-stanols during incubation, attesting to the involvement of biohydrogenation, this process did not act significantly on the double bond of pristenes and phytenes. Their resistance is attributed to the lack of binding polar group(s) to anchor the substrate to the enzyme and thus allow the double bond to reach the reductive catalytic site. It therefore seems that microbial hydrogenation of pristenes and phytenes does not account for the presence of pristane and phytane in recent sediments during early diagenesis.  相似文献

I summarise observations within a continuous-discontinuous shear zone to discuss the local stress and strain conditions experienced within a mixed rheology shear zone undergoing volume loss and deformation approximating simple shear. The Chrystalls Beach Complex, New Zealand, comprises phacoids formed from dismembered beds by layer-parallel extension, enclosed within a relatively incompetent matrix. Local extension is generally subparallel to the regional direction of shortening, and overall it appears that layer-parallel extension is a geometrical necessity in low angle shear zones where significant flattening occurs in response to simple shear accompanied by volume loss.Preferential stress loading of phacoids is predicted by fibre-loading theory, and the failure of phacoids by brittle fracture is thereby governed by fibre stresses transferred from the matrix. The principal stress orientations in a phacoid are likely rotated relative to the matrix, and either parallel or perpendicular to the phacoid-matrix interface. As preferential loading of phacoids decreases the stress level in the matrix, an increased volume fraction of phacoids increases the strength of the shear zone as a whole. However, only small matrix volume fractions are required for the composite to act nearly as weak as the matrix.  相似文献

The problem of dynamically mapping high-frequency (HF) radar radial velocity observations is investigated using a three-dimensional hydrodynamic model of the San Diego coastal region and an adjoint-based assimilation method. The HF radar provides near-real-time radial velocities from three sites covering the region offshore of San Diego Bay. The hydrodynamical model is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology general circulation model (MITgcm) with 1 km horizontal resolution and 40 vertical layers. The domain is centered on Point Loma, extending 117 km offshore and 120 km alongshore. The reference run (before adjustment) is initialized from a single profile of T and S and is forced with wind data from a single shore station and with zero heat and fresh water fluxes. The adjoint of the model is used to adjust initial temperature, salinity, and velocity, hourly temperature, salinity and horizontal velocities at the open boundaries, and hourly surface fluxes of momentum, heat and freshwater so that the model reproduces hourly HF radar radial velocity observations. Results from a small number of experiments suggest that the adjoint method can be successfully used over 10-day windows at coastal model resolution. It produces a dynamically consistent model run that fits HF radar data with errors near the specified uncertainties. In a test of the forecasting capability of the San Diego model after adjustment, the forecast skill was shown to exceed persistence for up to 20 h.  相似文献

The growth of critical clusters is discussed in the paper according to the classical and molecular dynamics (MD) approaches. A new formula for molecule numbers in critical clusters has been derived within the framework of the classical approach. A set of equations controlling the early stage of growth in a neighborhood of a critical size is presented. As far as molecular dynamics simulation is concerned, a computational technique based on the DL_POLY code is described in brief. Computation results are presented concerning cluster formation of H2O vapor, distribution of clusters versus time, cluster growth and radial density distribution of isolated clusters. A comparison with the classical results is made for a case of dense vapor, where the mechanism of strong condensation is predominant. The Hertz–Knudsen formula seems to be verified by the molecular dynamics results.  相似文献
